Operating Modes
The LokSound 5 Nano is a "pure" DCC decoder. 14 to 128 speed steps are standard, as well as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be activated. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoder registers automatically with a compatible digital command station.
It supports all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read directly from the main track with suitable command stations. For command stations that can only program CVs from 1-255, auxiliary registers are available.
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder recognizes Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands and the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or direct current is also possible. Additionally, it stops at a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train automation allows automatic back-and-forth operation between two stations. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC can also be used on analog DC layouts.
The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly." Usually, no manual adjustments are needed.
Sound
The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder can play up to 12 sound channels simultaneously. Each channel offers a resolution of up to 16-bit / 31,250 kHz, delivering HiFi-quality sound on your model railway. The difference from the original is practically imperceptible. A Class-D audio amplifier with up to 3W output power drives speakers with an impedance between 4 Ohms and 32 Ohms. A 128 Mbit sound memory provides sufficient storage capacity.
All individual sounds can be adjusted in volume. The highly flexible sound engine, without a fixed playback sequence, allows for realistic simulation of all conceivable railway vehicles.
Functions
Despite its small size, the LokSound 5 Nano DCC has 6 amplified function outputs and one logic-level output as a solder pad. All essential lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted individually. The decoder supports automatic coupling and uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois®, and Märklin-Telex® couplers.
Motor Control
The motor control of the LokSound 5 Nano DCC features a variable PWM clock frequency adjustable from 10 kHz to 50 kHz, ensuring ultra-quiet operation, especially for coreless motors – the typical "humming" noise is now a thing of the past. Load control can be fine-tuned with up to 10 CVs, even for challenging cases. The unique "Autotune" function allows automatic calibration of the decoder to the motor. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC provides up to 0.75A of motor current.
Protection
Of course, the outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
