Description / ESU LokPilot 5 micro DCC, Next18, Spurweite N, TT - - TT / N (ESU59828)
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC is the “twin” of the LokPilot 5 micro. Measuring only 8.0 mm x 7.0 mm with a thickness of just 2.4 mm (2.9 mm at the capacitor), it is equally small and can therefore be installed in very small locomotives of scales Z, N, or TT. Unlike its sibling, however, it is a pure DCC decoder. This lack of flexibility is rewarded with a lower price.
LokPilot 5 micro DCC decoders are available with all common interfaces. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface are slightly larger with a footprint of 13.0 mm x 9.2 mm, but offer 2 additional function outputs.
Operating modes
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC is a “pure-bred” DCC decoder. 14 to 128 speed steps are standard, as are 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be controlled. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders register automatically with a suitable digital command station.
It supports all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track with compatible command stations. For command stations that can only program CVs 1–255, auxiliary registers are available.
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC recognizes Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. In addition, it also stops at a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train function enables automatic shuttle operation between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC can be used on analog DC layouts. The maximum speed can be adjusted separately.
The decoder switches fully automatically “on-the-fly” between operating modes. In most cases, no manual adjustment is required.
Functions
Since you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible, the LokPilot 5 micro DCC is equipped with an impressive number of function outputs. The variants with a 6-pin or 8-pin harness provide 4 amplified function outputs with 180 mA each, plus two logic-level outputs for servos or Susi. In the versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface, there are a total of 6 amplified outputs and two logic-level outputs. All essential lighting functions are supported, and the brightness of each output can be individually adjusted. The decoder also supports automatic coupling and uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.
