LokPilot 5 DCC – The DCC Variant of the LokPilot 5
The LokPilot 5 DCC is the "twin brother" of the LokPilot 5. Both share almost all features, but the LokPilot 5 DCC is a pure DCC decoder and cannot be used on analog AC layouts. However, this loss of flexibility is compensated by a lower price.
LokPilot 5 DCC decoders are available with all common interfaces.
Operating Modes
The LokPilot 5 DCC is a dedicated DCC decoder. 14 to 128 speed steps are standard, as well as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be activated. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoder registers automatically with a compatible digital command station.
It supports all DCC programming modes, and with RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track using suitable control stations. For systems that can only program CVs from 1-255, auxiliary registers are available.
The LokPilot 5 DCC decoder recognizes Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK commands and the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC braking modules or DC voltage is also possible. Additionally, it stops at a Selectrix® braking diode. An ABC shuttle train automation enables automatic commuting between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 DCC decoder can be used on analog DC layouts. The maximum speed can be set separately in this mode.
The decoder automatically switches between operating modes on-the-fly. In most cases, no manual adjustments are needed.
Functions
We know that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. That is why we have packed the LokPilot 5 DCC with functional outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 DCC decoder has at least 10 amplified function outputs with 250mA output current each. Variants with a PluX22 or 21MTC interface include an additional 4 outputs for controlling servos or logic-level outputs.
All essential lighting functions are available, and the brightness of each output can be adjusted individually. The decoder supports automatic coupling and uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.
Motor Control
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 DCC has been fundamentally improved once again. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz ensures ultra-quiet operation, especially for coreless motors – the typical "humming" noise is a thing of the past.
Load control can now be adjusted with up to 10 CVs, even for difficult cases. The unique Autotune function allows the decoder to automatically calibrate itself to the motor. The LokPilot 5 DCC decoder delivers up to 1.5A of motor current, providing sufficient power even for older motors.
Operational Reliability
The LokPilot 5 DCC can optionally be connected to a PowerPack to bridge dirty track sections.
Protection
Of course, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
