The modern railway outbuildings on which these models are based are located in Schwarzach-St. Veit in the province of Salzburg. Buildings of this type are commonly found all over the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) network and are used to accommodate signal and control technology at railway stations and along railway lines. The original small buildings were made of standardised prefabricated concrete elements.
